A gem is a fine, precious, or ornamental stone.
A raw stone extracted from the earth by the miner, a gem is often cut by the lapidary to be set in a ring, earring, or any other jewelry ornament. It can be natural, treated, or artificially made (synthetic stone).
Few gems are perfectly pure. Most contain foreign bodies or show various crystallization defects. These defects are considered inclusions and should not be described as "flaws," as their presence does not necessarily reduce the gem's value.
The included minerals can be older than the host crystal and simply trapped during its growth. They may also have formed at the same time as the host crystal, which, due to faster growth, enclosed them within its mass. Additionally, there are inclusions that are more recent than the host crystal: they come from liquids that entered through cracks in the crystal.

Inclusions in semi-precious stones
Inclusions follow strict rules and can provide information regarding the formation and types of deposits of precious, fine, or ornamental stones. These are identification characteristics: each gemstone contains its own inclusions. Inclusions are relatively common in minerals; they can be of the same species (diamond inclusion in diamond, for example) or foreign (gold inclusion in quartz, for example). No matter how small, inclusions can offer valuable insights into the formation of the surrounding crystal, called the "host crystal."
FAQ
Are your fine stones and gems of natural origin?
Yes, absolutely. The Art'emi workshop carefully selects natural and genuine stones (fine gems, mother-of-pearl, coral). This is what makes each piece of jewelry unique, with its own color nuances and authentic reflections.
What are the meanings of the key stones in the collection?
Each gemstone has its own symbolism:
Rose Quartz: Stone of unconditional love, tenderness, and inner peace.
Black Agate: Symbol of strength, grounding, and protection against negative energies.
Turquoise: A travel and communication stone, known to promote luck and well-being.
How to choose the right stone for my jewelry?
You can choose your gemstone in two ways: either by instinct, letting yourself be drawn to the color that immediately attracts you, or by consulting our guide to find the stone whose virtues (serenity, confidence, energy) meet your current needs.
