This is 925 sterling silver plated with a minimum of 3 microns of gold. The process is called electrolysis. The gold used for plating is 18-karat gold, consisting of at least 75% pure gold. Furthermore, vermeil is hypoallergenic since it is silver coated with gold, two hypoallergenic metals! Finally, another advantage of vermeil is its exceptional durability.
