This type of silver contains 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. Pure silver is known to be very malleable, and it is this silver/copper alloy that gives the material the necessary strength for making these earrings. All our silver jewelry bears the "925" hallmark as a mark of quality.
However, a vermeil version also exists. This is sterling silver plated with gold to a minimum thickness of 3 microns. The gold used for the plating is 18-karat gold, consisting of at least 75% pure gold. Furthermore, vermeil is hypoallergenic since it is silver coated with gold, two non-allergenic metals! In addition, vermeil is exceptionally durable.
